Dental Rehabilitation of a 49-Year-Old Patient: A Minimally Invasive and Patient-Centric Approach Case Report
This case report documents the comprehensive treatment of a 49-year-old female patient presenting with multiple carious lesions, faulty restorations, and generalized moderate plaque-induced gingivitis. The patient’s oral health issues were compounded by poor oral hygiene practices and lack of awareness, leading to badly broken-down teeth and compromised aesthetics and function.
The treatment plan utilized a minimally invasive and patient-centric approach, focusing on preserving natural teeth while improving both aesthetics and functionality. The report highlights key clinical steps, including:
- Periodontal Therapy: Scaling, root planing, and oral hygiene instruction.
- Restorations: Amalgam and composite restorations to retain natural structures.
- Endodontic Treatment: Root canal treatments and retreatments to address pulp pathology.
- Prosthetic Rehabilitation: Fabrication of crowns and dental prostheses to restore missing structures.
Key Outcomes:
The report emphasizes the importance of phased treatment planning, adhesive dentistry principles, and effective communication in achieving optimal clinical results and patient satisfaction. While the long-term prognosis is promising, the case underscores the need for regular follow-up and sustained oral hygiene practices for maintaining results.
