Being ‘British’: Schooling and National Identity in an inner-London Primary School

This thesis explores the understandings and enactments of British identity in an inner-London primary school and their relationship to educational policy. The thesis outlines a number of key limiting factors to existing policies and presents alternative ways of engaging with national identity in a multicultural society.
