This thesis critically examined and applied the equity crowdfunding regimes and market performances in Australia, the UK, the US, and New Zealand. It identified effective regulatory practices for developing economies with focus on Nigeria. The thesis proposed broader interpretations of gatekeeping responsibilities for online intermediary platforms including implementing a nominee shareholder structure and providing investment ready measures.
