ASSESSING GLACIER RECESSION AND DYNAMICS IN WESTERN HIMALAYAS, CHENAB BASIN..pdf
The dynamics and alterations of glaciers in the western Himalayas are the main subject of this study. According to the findings, the area's glaciers have retreated and experienced a notable slowdown. The dynamics and recession of glaciers are influenced by geography and morphological variables. Although there is no discernible trend in the precipitation data, it is determined from other studies conducted in the area that the kind of precipitation has changed. The long-term climate data indicates that temperatures are rising in the region with a statistically significant trend. Because the people who live downstream depend on the Himalayan glaciers for their water supply, these glaciers require constant monitoring. Avalanches and GLOFs are among the dangers that might arise from the ongoing melting of glaciers and the creation of new glacial lakes.
