Dysphagia is an important health problem in the older adults. Recently, an increasing number of patients with dysphagia have been reported, not only in cerebrovascular disease and head and neck cancer, but also in orthopedic patients. Dysphagia and orthopedic conditions are common in the aging population, and their combination may lead to additional adverse health events. Determining the prevalence of dysphagia in patients with orthopedic diseases may provide useful information for future research questions and solutions.
