This Python Jupyter Notebook contains the calculating and plotting performed on ionospheric trough detection used to generate figures seen in the publication. This code can either calculate the statistics using one or multiple dates processed using Greg Starr's trough identification code, OR load in previously calculated variables from the Pickle repository (data files uploaded to this project). The statistics in the .pickle files were calculated using 13 years' worth of Madrigal TEC data across all seasons and geomagnetic conditions in both hemispheres.
Each cell of the code calculates and plots a different statistic found in the .pickle variables.
