Urban disaster management toolkit

This 47-page Urban Disaster Management Toolkit was developed in response to the interest of World Vision (WV) to support disaster management in urban areas in line with its DM2020 strategy (Disaster Management 2020).The aim of this toolkit is to develop a framework for leading practice in the delivery and management of urban DM projects with particular relevance to Asia and targeted for operations and program staff in WV National Offices. It is targeted for use by WV staff in national offices to allow them to assess strengths and shortfalls in existing urban disaster management programs and thereby identify action plan agendas across the different stages of disaster management. It is also designed as a planning tool. The toolkit follows an exploratory method consisting of an assessment-based approach. The toolkit is currently being used in World Vision's urban disaster management programs.
