<p dir="ltr">This presentation, entitled: <b>The Role of </b><b><i>Relational Agency </i></b><b>in Transformative Outcomes for Disaster Recovery </b>was presented as part of Critical Geographies of Disasters: ‘transformation’ as political emergence panel. Belinda presented alongside scholars from UCL, University of Reading, University of Manchester and the Institute of Development Studies<i>.</i><i> </i>Disasters and environmental crises have long been recognised as moments that challenge the legitimacy of business-as-usual development and the session called for a repositioning of transformation as a vital focus of research at the intersection between disaster studies and critical human geography.Belinda's presentation focussed on how educational theory and the concept of 'relational agency'can enhance transformative outcomes for sustainable disaster recovery. In particular, her presentation previewed a methodology application of 'spheres of influence' and 'relational' agency and highlighted examples from Monash University's Fire to Flourish program. </p>
