Teach Mate UCET Conference Presentation November 2025

<p dir="ltr">Generative AI is rapidly permeating all aspects of life—including teaching and teacher education—regardless of individual perceptions or resistance. As a Primary PGCE team within a long-established HEI, we found ourselves grappling with the question of whether to ‘allow’ our pre-service teachers to use AI tools to support their planning and teaching. However, it quickly became evident that this was not our decision to make —our incoming cohorts were already engaging with and using AI. This presentation at the UCET conference outlined the findings from the first year of our 3 year project, sharing the core elements of our report of recommendations for our trainee teacher and University stakeholder groups.</p>
