Precis:

Goal setting mentorship and effective self management are key components of an academic career in either research or clinical medicine. However, many trainees are underprepared with regard to pragmatic and effective steps to enhance their career development. This presentation is designed as a overview for early stage potential physician and physician scientists, as well as research scientists, to outline key components of effective current development, using a mentor individual development plan model. Trainees will be instructed with regard to mentorship selection, value, setting, and IDP construction and implementation.
