<p dir="ltr">This invited talk at the University of St Andrews examined the role of participatory research in shaping place-based interventions. The presentation explored a range of approaches to designing and implementing interventions in urban contexts, with a particular emphasis on how participation can strengthen both social connection and environmental responsibility.</p><p dir="ltr">Alongside considerations of sustainability and long-term impact, the talk reflected on the importance of integrating elements of fun and playfulness into urban environments. By doing so, participatory interventions can not only address pressing challenges but also foster more engaging, inclusive, and enjoyable cities.</p>
