Weather-related events have reached historic levels. In 2017 alone, U.S. weather and climate disasters caused a record-breaking $306 billion in damages. Supply chains were disrupted, business was halted, repair and overtime costs skyrocketed, and communities lost power. Lives were lost. The development of an ORL (Operational Readiness Level) for datasets seeks to classify operational decision support information to increase decision makers’ confidence in the datasets and tools used in their decision processes. Data and information must be accessed and shared across multiple devices, platforms, and sectors (public and private) to help industries and communities coordinate response operations. The result is faster recovery and reduced disaster costs. This webinar focuses on the success of information sharing partnerships, trust frameworks, and delivery of reliable, timely, and actionable information to the right people at the right time.
