Low-pass whole genome sequencing (LP-WGS) offers a cost-effective approach to sequencing entire genomes at low coverages.
This technique, followed by imputation, is becoming the preferred method for genotyping among plant and animal breeders. LP-WGS can capture a broad spectrum of genetic variation and is not limited by a fixed content, speeding up the selection process and improving the reliability of predictions.
In this webinar Drs Charlie Johnson, and Marcel Brun, from Texas A&M, will discuss how agrigenomics has evolved from microarrays to next-generation sequencing in breeding programs, highlight the main methods, benefits, and challenges of this approach. Additionally, Dr Pedro Echave from Revvity and Shawn Quinn from Curio Genomics will present data obtained with a rapid and robust solution to simplify and democratize access to LP-WGS and imputation analysis.
