“Surface propulsion” & “traveling wave electric field propulsion”
Proposed the concept of "surface propulsion". "Surface propulsion" means that the aircraft uses its surface of the shell to propel air. Due to the large surface area of the aircraft shell, the aircraft using "surface propulsion" is equivalent to having a huge jet area, thus achieving high energy efficiency. Three element for efficient traveling wave electric propulsion are listed. First, plasma driven by traveling wave electric field should be "ionic plasma". Second, the frequency of the traveling wave electric field should be close to the resonance frequency of the ions in the plasma being propelled. Third, the driving traveling wave electric field and the traveling wave electric field induced in the air need to have an appropriate phase difference.
