These will be trials where the participants are end-stage renal disease patients on haemodialysis. The trials must be randomised controlled trials, specifically parallel group, cluster, crossover or stepped wedge.
To evaluate the four trial designs, the following will be assessed:
1. Quality of sample size reporting
2. Recruitment to trial
3. Patient retention
4. Achievement of a statistically significant outcome
5. Level of bias
