This paper explores the person and work of the Holy Spirit as presented in Scripture and theological tradition, emphasizing both his divinity and active presence in creation, redemption, and the life of the Church. It affirms the Holy Spirit as a divine person, coequal with the Father and the Son, who possesses intellect, will, and emotion, and who operates in personal and powerful ways throughout redemptive history. The study traces the Spirit’s role from the Old Testament, through the life of Jesus, to the birth and expansion of the Early Church, and into the present experience of believers. Particular attention is given to the Spirit’s work in regeneration, sanctification, Spirit baptism, and the distribution of spiritual gifts. Engaging voices from classical theology, Pentecostal tradition, and contemporary scholarship, the paper presents a comprehensive account of the Spirit’s role in empowering the Church for mission and transforming believers into the image of Christ.
