Premature Ejaculation: Current Understanding and Challenges
Premature ejaculation is a common male sexual disorder that negatively impacts the health and quality of life of the man and his sexual partner. Premature ejaculation affects men of all ages and cultural backgrounds but many men who experience symptoms may not seek help. The recent development of updated guidelines with standardized definitions can enhance the clinician’s capacity to identify and treat this often-distressing condition. This article reviews the current understanding and challenges in the definition, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for premature ejaculation.
