The paper provides a concise review of various devices and techniques aimed at mitigating parasitic drag. The fundamental principles and concepts of aerodynamics are explained to facilitate the readers’ comprehension. The focus of the evaluation and critique lies in the application of these techniques to electric small scaled aircraft, similar to UAVs designed for search and rescue or reconnaissance purposes. By assessing each technique within the context of small electric aircraft, this paper aims to shed light on their effectiveness and limitations.
