At first glance, and especially by non-Temiar or non-Aslian speakers, the papers by Geoffrey Benjamin on Temiar Language appear to be detailed, methodical and robust. However, when the language analysis and example texts were tested with native Temiar speakers, it showed many weaknesses and apparent errata. For the sake of Temiar language studies and the students of Aslian languages, I have compiled these comments to highlight problems with Benjamin’s work and to promote accuracy of Aslian language study.
