Peer support for people living with Hepatitis B - an NHS first at Central North West London NHS Trust

In this poster, we describe the appointment of the first paid peer support worker for people living with hepatitis B virus (HBV) in an NHS team in the UK. Based in Mortimer Market Centre, in Central North West London NHS Trust, our multi-disciplinary team established this service in July 2023. The aim is to provide support, education and information, share insights through lived experience, engage with partners and families, and to reduce physical, psychological and social impacts for people living with HBV infection.
