The anole is used as a model system for studying tissue regeneration, and there is a strong interest in applying the results of regeneration research to human health; however, patterns of sex-biased gene expression may affect estimates of gene expression in regenerating tail tissues between male and female samples. In this study we assess patterns of male- and female-biased gene expression in regenerating tail tissue samples in the green anole. Karyotype suggest an XY system in Anoles were females are homozygous (XX) and males are heterozygous (XY).
