From the simulation set up to the analysis of mobility with a novel manipulability index, and also the real system experiment. The new robotics platform allows to enhance the traversability of the robot in the wild (from space to volcanoes). Integrating sensors and perception algorithm on this system will enable the monitoring of new critical areas.

[Video here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFgoOtxCJKTPv_dibdvSUT_YPGDJBc_5C&si=pRemO-z8HV7r5XxK]

---

Upcoming Project: (AcousticBioMap) Mapping and monitoring of the surface condition and biological colonization of submerged parts of offshore wind turbines using acoustic imaging

My PhD research will explore the 3D mapping of the base of floating offshore wind turbines. Not only to autonomously detect defects, but also marine animals colonizing the structure. This will be done mainly with acoustic (imaging sonar), but optical (camera) sensors will also be considered. This sensor will be carried by small underwater robots. The development of a full monitoring pipeline is the final objective: localization,3D acoustic mapping, sensor fusion, detection and identification of structural damages and marine animals.

(During the making of this poster, the PhD plan is still a draft, the methods and goals will probably evolve)
