This reflective piece was written in August 2024 while studying a Master of Social Work at the University of Queensland. This reflection explores my role as a Coordinator at the UQ Neurodivergent Hub and my journey toward improving communication within a "team of teams" structure. The reflection highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with working within multiple teams that collectively contribute to the Hub's overarching goals. Through identifying gaps in communication, particularly due to my four-day work week, I initiated weekly updates to ensure transparency, accountability, and connection among team members and program participants. This practice not only enhances team cohesion but also supports the success and sustainability of our underfunded programs by keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged. The reflection underscores the importance of effective communication in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment and outlines my commitment to continuously improving my communication skills to better serve the Neurodivergent Hub's strategic outcomes.
