The Swedish Metaphor task

This is a task developed to assess metaphor comprehension in Swedish. The task consists of twenty-three target words presented twice, once in a metaphorical condition and once in a literal. The reponses are multiple-choice, and an additional verbal motivation of a chosen alternative is collected for selected items. An audio recording is nessecary when conduting the task.

The Swedish Metahpor Task has been adapted from a similar Norwegian metaphor task (Kalandadze et al. 2021).

The task has so far been used to assess metaphor comprehension in 12-22 year olds with cochlear implants and with typical hearing.
