Postmodernism, as a highly dynamic artistic movement, has flourished in the realm of art and culture, giving rise to innovative works by artists who bring unique perspectives and ideas to the forefront. Mickalene Thomas, as a trailblazer in this artistic era, has significantly influenced this period. This article aims to analyze Mickalene Thomas as a contemporary African-American artist, with the primary research question focusing on examining the key postmodern elements in her works. The research employs a descriptive-analytical approach in terms of data collection. To address this question, the article begins with an exploration of the artist's biography, categorizing her artistic phases. Subsequently, a brief analysis of various aspects of postmodernism is acknowledged, followed by an examination of postmodern features in her works. The findings of this research indicate that in the majority of Thomas's works, postmodern elements such as the use of simple and indefinable colors and forms are employed to convey meaningful and profound messages related to social issues that are prominently depicted.
