Study Title: Exploring the Wellbeing Needs of Parents Raising Autistic Individuals with Learning Difficulties
Principal Researcher: Ezaeza Gaby Sanz Galvan, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Edge Hill UniversityThis study aims to delve into the specific wellbeing needs of parents raising autistic individuals with learning difficulties. Led by Ezaeza Gaby Sanz Galvan, Graduate Teaching Assistant at Edge Hill University, along with Dr. Vicky Karkou and Dr. Supritha Aithal, this research seeks to identify the challenges and support systems affecting these parents' wellbeing.
Invitation Criteria:Parents of autistic children or adults with learning difficulties are invited to participate if they can read and write in English. The study aims to recruit 100 parents from early 2024 to mid-2024.
Participation Process:Participants will answer eligibility questions, review project details, and complete the Family Quality of Life Survey (FQOL-S) comprising five domains. An optional interview opportunity is available upon survey completion, with interviewees entered into a prize draw for a £50 Amazon voucher.
Benefits and Confidentiality:While direct benefits may not apply, participation contributes to understanding parental wellbeing needs and informs tailored support strategies. Confidentiality is maintained following GDPR regulations.
