The UK music education sector faces significant challenges in funding, accessibility, and sustained commitment, particularly impacting learners from underprivileged backgrounds. Existing literature and reports from Ofsted and The Musicians' Union highlight a persistent "postcode lottery" in accessing quality music instruction. To explore this further, we conducted surveys and interviews with 15 stakeholders, including music educators, service heads, and hobbyists, to gain insight into the current state of music education and the role of technology within it. This research provides a comprehensive overview of the barriers and ongoing efforts to support equitable access to music education across the UK.
