Designing for Transformative Experiential Learning: Architecture
The overarching purpose of the Designing for Transformative Experiential Learning (DTEL) is to provide experiential educators with the necessary tools and skills to be able to design, implement, and measure student-centered, contextually relevant, transformative experiential learning opportunities towards augmenting in-classroom learning. This module is aimed at participants seeking recognition for experiential learning activities/modules/units, both in their application renewal or new application phase. The benefits of the DTEL training are threefold: staff and students who participate in the training and complete module activities will:
i) learn the necessary tools and skills to be able to design a unit/activity/course;
ii) qualify for academic transcript recognition for DTEL;
iii) make firm progress on the application form or complete the application by the end of the series
The DTEL Training offers the convenience to be completed synchronously or asynchronously, which allow the participants to complete the DTEL Training and application at a timeframe that suits their calendar best. If participants choose to complete the module asynchronously, it will mean that they work through the material on SUNLearn and submit the various activities via the SUNLearn platform.
