A Bibliometric and Visualization Analysis of Research Trends in Chinese Batik (1959-2024)
Batik, recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of China, embodies the rich traditional textile dyeing techniques of ethnic minorities. This paper examines the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database, analyzing 1,438 articles on this subject through bibliometric and thematic approaches. The bibliometric analysis highlights research trends, hotspots, institutional distributions, and active research groups within China over the past 65 years (1959-2023). Visual knowledge maps were constructed to provide an interpretative analysis. The thematic analysis identifies three major research themes related to batik. The core aim of this paper is to offer a comprehensive overview of batik research in China, uncovering knowledge development patterns and research characteristics. Based on these findings, five feasible suggestions for future research directions are proposed.
