sample_movies
Overview and purpose:
This database was picked to provide example footage recorded under varying conditions of lighting, focus and environment and
is especially suitable for computer vision student projects. While the footage is primarily of planar locomotion, slight head lifting and examples of the body crossing over are observed.
Notes:
Single animal movies
Spatial resolution: vga
Sampling rate: 25 Hz
Tracking: The microscope stage is moved to keep the worm within view
Technical limitations/computer vision challenges:
- The longer movies include multiple examples of body coiling and self-obstruction during turns (see e.g. file "08.04.22_N2_dialysis1.wmv").
- The tracking occasionally fails so the entire animal is not kept in view.
- Interaction with objects in the enviroment (microbeads, dirt)
All individuals are young adults with a body length of approximately 1mm.
