Thousand Eye Mandala is a semi-permanent public art installation that was on display for four months at Torrens University Australia campus in Brisbane. It featured hundreds of spheres in concentric circles with each individual sphere projection mapped 3D animated geometric patterns onto. The project displayed 15 minutes of continuous 3D animation. It was exhibited at the Design Exhibition held annually at the University. The project investigated in particular the re-imagining of old mediums using new media and technology - in this instance it investigated mandalas, and the role they played in indigenous and spiritual art. The all-seeing eye and geometric patterns play crucial roles in both old and new media, and the work explored the fusion of both.
