Audio files and transcript of an episode of the podcast That Feels Like Home by the Museum of Domestic Design & Architecture, recorded 18 May 2020 and published 10 June 2020.

In this episode MoDA's curator, Ana Baeza, talks to historians Trevor Keeble (Dean of Creative & Cultural Industries and Professor of Design at Portsmouth University) and Jane Hamlett (Professor of Modern British History at Royal Holloway) about the design of homes in Britain from the nineteenth century onward. They discuss the idea of the home as a private space, and consider how we are currently re-negotiating these spaces in the context of Covid-19 through the uses of digital technologies.

Over the last few hundred years, homes have been regarded as private and separate from public space. This assumption has been built into the interior design and lay-out of the house, and has in turn influenced our social interactions and the relationship between outside and inside, public and private spaces.
