Sheets of Sound

Sheets of Sound is a performance portfolio of three new works for percussion and electronics, developed to sit at the nexus of concert performance and art installation. Each work explores the instrumentality of metal, paper, plastic, crystal and/or glass instruments, objects and surfaces, via sculptural setups spatially arranged throughout the performance space. Each setup is further diversified by electronics. The three works are:

Permeating Through the Pores of Shifting Planes by Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh

Catacomb Body Double by Matthias Schack-Arnott

Funded by the Australia Council for the Arts (Development grant, 2018).

Presented by Tura New Music and premiered at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, 28-29 July 2019.
