Cinematography Practice - Mind-Set (Murray. 2022)
This deposit captures the practice of Cinematographer Jack Shelbourn for the Independent Feature Film Mind-Set (Murray. 2022). Directed by Dr Mikey Murray, with Jack Shelbourn as the Director of Photography (a head of department role). This film was a major student engagement project. Shot entirely with a crew of staff, students, and alumni from the University of Lincoln and Lincoln College.
The Cinematography is often referenced in other research by Jack Shelbourn as a case study for his work into the cinematic process and art form of New Naturalism. Predominantly shooting with natural and available light. Whilst reflecting on the sustainable effects of doing so.
The film achieved major success by winning 'Best UK Feature Film' at the Manchester International Film Festival 2022. Receiving a 4* review in the Guardian by Peter Bradshaw, and gaining cinema distribution with Curzon Cinemas.
