Chapter 1 The Wayee of the Bhagaadiya Jaths of Kachchh

This field recording was made as a part of a pilot fieldwork for the Re-Centering Afro Asia Project in 2018. It serves as an example of the Kachchhi Wayee, a complex musical form of lamentation as sung by the semi-nomadic Bhagaadiya Jath community in Gujarat.
