This systematic literature review (SLR) evaluates the impact of database and data warehouse technologies on organizational performance, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By synthesizing 150 studies published between 2014 and 2024, this review highlights how these technologies improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. It explores the role of relational databases, NoSQL systems, and cloud computing in modern data management, while identifying gaps in research, such as the lack of focus on employee satisfaction and the underrepresentation of specific technologies like High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. The review also addresses the geographical bias in the literature, stressing the need for more research in developing regions. This SLR provides actionable insights for SMEs, policymakers, and IT professionals on how to leverage database technologies for enhanced business outcomes and long-term sustainability.
