“India as an Emerging Jagat Guru in the Contemporary Global Order In G20 Perspective.”

<p dir="ltr"><i>It goes without saying that India is a nation-state with the oldest civilization, rich</i><i> </i><i>heritage,</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>is</i><i> </i><i>a</i><i> </i><i>follower</i><i> </i><i>of</i><i> </i><i>the</i><i> </i><i>path</i><i> </i><i>of</i><i> </i><i>peace</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>tolerance,</i><i> </i><i>with</i><i> </i><i>democratic</i><i> </i><i>values.</i><i> </i><i>Its</i><i> </i><i>time</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>tested</i><i> </i><i>values</i><i> </i><i>of</i><i> </i><i>compassion,</i><i> </i><i>non-violence,</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>peaceful</i><i> </i><i>coexistence</i><i> </i><i>were</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>are</i><i> </i><i>spread</i><i> </i><i>throughout the world through the preachings of Gautama Buddha, Mahavira, Bhakti era Saints,</i><i> </i><i>as well as the Father of the Nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The philosophy of India’s</i><i> </i><i>Vedas,</i><i> </i><i>Mahaakavyas,</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>Upanishads</i><i> </i><i>has</i><i> </i><i>been</i><i> </i><i>a</i><i> </i><i>source</i><i> </i><i>of</i><i> </i><i>inspiration</i><i> </i><i>and</i><i> </i><i>lifestyle</i><i> </i><i>for</i><i> </i><i>the</i><i> </i><i>people</i><i> </i><i>of the world at large and it is in this sense India has ever been followed by the world as Guru</i><i> </i><i>which</i><i> </i><i>was also reflected in</i><i> </i><i>the</i><i> </i><i>recently</i><i> </i><i>held G20</i><i> </i><i>Summit 2023</i><i> </i><i>in New Delhi.</i></p><p dir="ltr"><i>When we look at the contours of the contemporary world along with the present realities</i><i> </i><i>of the existing Global Order we find India playing a leading and dynamic role in world affairs.</i><i> </i><i>Even during the era of the Cold War India did not isolate itself rather it played an active and</i><i> </i><i>unbiased role in World Affairs as the leader of NAM. Even today when we are living in a more</i><i> </i><i>connected and interdependent world, India is contributing in all the spheres of International life</i><i> </i><i>and a spectrum of world issues related to conflicts, climate, commerce, energy, health, terrorism,</i><i> </i><i>and security. Moreover, many top leaders of the world are approaching the Indian leadership to</i><i> </i><i>solve the crisis between Russia and Ukraine by using its unique influence and position that was</i><i> </i><i>visible</i><i> </i><i>in the deliberations of the G20.</i></p><p dir="ltr"><i>India</i><i> </i><i>has</i><i> </i><i>always</i><i> </i><i>played</i><i> </i><i>the</i><i> </i><i>role</i><i> </i><i>of</i><i> </i><i>a</i><i> </i><i>benevolent</i><i> </i><i>big</i><i> </i><i>brother</i><i> </i><i>in</i><i> </i><i>dealing</i><i> </i><i>with</i><i> </i><i>its</i><i> </i><i>neighboring</i><i> </i><i>countries. India has shown the utility of Yoga and Ayurveda to the world and in the wake of the</i><i> </i><i>COVID-19</i><i> </i><i>Pandemic,</i><i> </i><i>India</i><i> </i><i>has</i><i> </i><i>helped</i><i> </i><i>mankind</i><i> </i><i>through</i><i> </i><i>its</i><i> </i><i>‘Vaccine</i><i> </i><i>Maitri’</i><i> </i><i>initiative.</i><i> </i><i>Moreover,</i><i> </i><i>India’s role in United Nations-led Peacekeeping and other initiatives has led her to have an</i><i> </i><i>exemplary record on the World platform. Finally, it is therefore clearly evident in contemporary</i><i> </i><i>times that India is playing a leading role in world affairs which is duly recognized by the</i><i> </i><i>international</i><i> </i><i>community at large.</i></p>
