Abstract: Languages evolve naturally over time, reflecting cultural, social, and phonetic changes as they are spoken and written by different communities. Italian, like all Romance languages, evolved from Latin. While the focal point of this volume may appear to be on the word, espresso, it isn't. While 'espresso' is the global community standard, the correct historical, linguistic, and etymological spelling and pronunciation is actually "expresso." This reflects the word's true origins and the natural linguistic evolution that has shaped its current usage.
