Turban et al.’s incredible assumptions about sex

Turban et al. analyze the “Sex Assigned at Birth Ratio” of transgender adolescents in the United States using the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. The survey provided no information on "sex assigned at birth" and so the premise of the article is invalid. The authors' claim that among transgender youth in the United States, natal males outnumber by natal females. This claim is shown to be incredible, by comparing other studies of American trans youth and by analysing the survey itself.
