This research aims to assess the efficiency of urban solid waste management in Brazilian capitals between 2002 and 2016. A quantitative technique known as Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was employed to compare the efficiency levels among the capitals. The findings indicate that the amount of material recovered is significantly lower than the amount collected. Vitória recorded the highest volume of materials collected in 2015, while Florianópolis achieved the highest recovery rate in 2013.
