In the rapidly evolving landscape of cybersecurity, the emergence of next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) has become essential for safeguarding networks against sophisticated threats. This paper explores the integration of swarm intelligence, a collective decision-making paradigm inspired by natural systems, into the design and operation of adaptive next-generation firewalls. Swarm intelligence leverages the collective intelligence of decentralized agents, mimicking the behavior of swarms in nature, to enhance adaptability, responsiveness, and threat detection capabilities.
