This paper explores the ethical double standard in how society judges individuals with low emotional intelligence versus low logical intelligence. While emotional intelligence is often scrutinized, pointed at and corrected, logical intelligence tends to receive less harsh to none criticism, despite both being influenced by innate factors. This paper argues that society’s disproportionate moral judgment of low emotional intelligence perpetuates an unfair bias and fails to account the intricacies of emotional growth.
The goal of this paper is to explore why society has higher standards for those with lower emotional intelligence than those with low logical intelligence, and whether it is ethically justified.
