THE IMPORTANCE OF SUCESSION PLANNING IN FAMILY BUSINESSSES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ARACRUZ - ES

The motivation for preparing this research was developed due to the interest in the family business theme, especially the process of succession, since the continuity of the family business is fully linked to this process. Competitiveness, globalization, technological advances have forced organizations to promote managerial and structural changes to adapt to the new challenges that have been imposed. This research aimed to examine whether the family business succession planning process. This study characterizes literature as exploratory and quantitative approach, based on books, articles and websites that discuss the subject. Treated the data, it is identified that the process of succession is something that family businesses have science, but generally does not put into practice.
