Cu-catalyzed oxidative coupling of the hexatriynyl complex Fp*−(C⋮C)₃−H affords the dodecahexynediyl diiron complex Fp*−(C⋮C)₆−Fp*. Its linear but slightly twisted structure has been revealed by X-ray crystallography.
