Creating corpora is money and time consuming. At the same time, establishing and measuring the longitudinal development of student writing is not an easy activity. Thirdly, student writing ability at university is a well-documented area in which work needs to be done, especially since writing tutoring is a labor and time-intensive activity. The question this paper wishes to address is whether digital humanities techniques may not be a way to address all three of these issues simultaneously.
