The objective of this work is to contrast or verify how far did the influence and prestige of the GRAE reach in a selection of non-academic grammars (schools, such as epitomes or compendia, and always in any case alternatives to the academic ones, written in Spain or Latin America). For this, we will take into account, among other elements, the context of the appearance of the RAE, the titles and prologues of the works, as well as, where appropriate, in other fragments of the works, which will cover, above all, but not exclusively, the spectrum of the 19th century
