Institute of Legal and Policy Research (ILPR) serves as a nexus for Afghanistan's most eminent intellectuals, policy mavens, and individuals deeply entrenched in research and policy formulation. Drawing from a mosaic of academic and professional disciplines, our collective intellect collaborates in conducting advanced research on an array of issues pertinent to policymaking. ILPR driven by a fervent dedication to advancing societal well-being, ILPR stands as a beacon of enlightenment and empowerment in Afghanistan's intellectual landscape. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, we continue to forge ahead, catalyzing positive change through informed discourse and visionary policy initiatives. These initiatives underscore ILPR's commitment to fostering global citizenship, promoting dialogue, and addressing multifaceted challenges through collaborative efforts on the international stage. By facilitating such platforms, ILPR endeavors to nurture a generation of informed and empowered leaders poised to navigate the complexities of an interconnected world. In continuation to the its commitment, ILPR under the esteemed leadership of Prof. (Dr.) TR Maruthi, the School of Law at the University of Mysore has been instrumental in co-hosting various MUN conferences and webinars in collaboration with ILPR. These endeavors serve as platforms for intellectual engagement, diplomatic discourse, and the exploration of pressing global issues. Among the notable events organized is the International Webinar on "Sensitizing Refugee Rights under the Aegis of Human Rights" held on February 24th, 2024. This webinar facilitated discussions on the protection and promotion of refugee rights within the framework of human rights principles. In the same line, In April 2024, ILPR, in conjunction with the School of Law at the University of Mysore, orchestrated the inaugural International Model United Nations Conference on "Impact of War on the Environment." This conference delved into the environmental ramifications of armed conflict, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable practices amidst global turmoil. Continuing its commitment to diplomatic simulation, ILPR and the School of Law at the University of Mysore convened the first International Foreign Ministers' Model on "Reforming the United Nations Security Council" on April 27th, 2024. The agenda focused on restructuring the UN Security Council to enhance global peace and security. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Collegiate Model United Nations Society, Chennai, India, the School of Law at the University of Mysore, and ILPR organized the inaugural Students' G77 Summit on May 11th, 2024. This summit addressed pressing issues of global inequality, poverty, disparity, and financial flows, underscoring the imperative of collective action. ILPR and the School of Law at the University of Mysore concluded their collaborative efforts with the International Model UN Conference on "Global Eco-Aviation Practices" on June 29th, 2024. This conference examined the impact of the aviation industry on air pollution, highlighting the need for sustainable aviation practices to mitigate environmental degradation.
Through these initiatives, ILPR remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting global understanding, fostering dialogue, and advancing solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. By engaging scholars, policymakers, and students in meaningful discourse, ILPR continues to be a catalyst for positive change on the international stage.
