The reaction of [Fe3(CO)12] with 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one affords a route to the di-iron complex [Fe2(CO)6(μ-S{C6H4}CONH)] (1) featuring a {Fe2SN} butterfly core with a peptide-like unit in close proximity to the di-iron site. Redox behaviors of 1 and its substituted derivatives [Fe2(CO)6‑x(PPh3)x(μ-S{C6H4}CONH)] (x = 1, 2) have been preliminarily investigated.
