ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS IN INDIA: A POLICY-LEGAL OVERVIEW
Digital India has ushered in a series of new policy change and brought in many activities under the garb of improved technology to facilitate the ease of transactions-in the financial or the commerce industry. Another aspect to focus has always been the "Health Industry" and to create a robust health management system-preferably by the use of echnology. The interlinkages of the viability of Electronic Health Records in India have beenassessedby the authors while effectuating the principle of Doctor-Patient Confidentiality which is practiced in the medical field. Taking cue fom there, brief aspects of violations and/or protection of the fundamental right to privacy have also beenassessedin the garb of Electronic Health Records. The policy debates that surround the usage of electronic health records vis-à-vis the right to privacy have been explored and a way forward has been concluded.
