Data, scripts and figures

PaperData: This folder contains the data in the studies described in the paper.

• mechanical_testing_data: .ddf files generated from the Dynamic Muscle Control software with the force-position data. File names correspond to (experiment identifier)_(bird id)_(location on the feather)_(feather tested)_(wing position)_(elbow angle)_(wrist angle)_(servomotor frequency)_(with or no feather interaction indicator).
• cfd_data:
• • pigeon_rect_real: .oisd files with pressure and velocity values and .othd files with displacement values of the trailing edge from the simulation on wing models. File names correspond to (model type)_(wing position if folded)_(young's modulus)_(reynolds number)_(angle of attack).
  • cp_data: chordwise pressure distribution for over time (time-dependent) and averaged (mean) for the wing models, and for the rectangular flat plates (ar). File names correspond to (model type)_(wing position if folded)_(young's modulus or aspect ratio)_(reynolds number)_(angle of attack)_(iteration if time-dependent)_cpdata.
  • ar: .oisd files with pressure and velocity values from the simulation of the rectangular flat plates. File names correspond to (model type)_(aspect ratio)_(reynolds number)_(angle of attack).

PaperScripts: This folder contains the scripts to process the data and generate plots.

• mechanical_testing_scripts: scripts to generate the figures from the experimental testing.
• cfd_scripts: scripts to generate the figures from the cfd simulation.

PaperFigures: This folder contains the illustrator (.ai) and pdfs (.pdf) for the main and supplemental figures in the paper.

PaperVideos: This folder contains the .gif animations showing the chordwise pressure distribution changes around the wing models that are referenced in the paper as supplemental material.
